Hanseatic Scholarships for Britons
In 1936, Alfred Toepfer designed these scholarships following the example of the British Cecil Rhodes Trust’s scholarships for German Students in Great Britain. Accordingly, the Hanseatic Scholarships for Britons are offered to British students who want to study one or two years at a German university. Annually two scholarships of 1.250 Euro per month are granted.
The target group consists of students at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge working on a subject that bears a German-British reference in terms of European understanding. The scholarship is granted over a period of one to two years.
Application procedure
The application procedure takes place at the University of Oxford. For further information please check the rules and the current announcement.
